A religious caste Ranger recruit and a pupil of
Turval, who was selected to escort him on a trip
to Babylon 5 with Durhan following his humor at
the banter the two elder Minbari shared in their
conversation.
During his stay on Babylon 5, Tannier suffered
extreme injuries at the hands of members of Trace's
gang but successfully prevented Cynthia Teegarden
from being killed, despite being abandoned by his
partner, Rastenn, a fellow Ranger trainee.
As soon as he could walk Tannier confronted Trace
in downbelow in accordance with the rite of Mora'dum,
(the Application of Terror), beating Trace in a
one-on-one combat with the denn'bok.
As a result of his bravery in facing Trace and
his own terror, Delenn made a request that Tannier
be assigned to the house guards of herself and John
Sheridan once they moved to the as yet unbuilt headquarters
of the Interstellar Alliance at Tuzanor. This was
considered to be a great honor for one as young
as Tannier.

This was Tannier
fellow Ranger trainee which left him ot defend him
self, this is his side of the story.
A member of the Minbari warrior caste
who became a Ranger following the conclusion of
the Shadow War, where he was trained by Turval,
amongst others.
Owing to his problems concentrating
on his meditations during a class with Turval, Rastenn
was selected to accompany his teacher on a trip
to Babylon 5, along with another recruit in his
class, Tannier.
While the pair explored DownBelow
they overheard the cries of Cynthia Teegarden and
while Rastenn refused to get involved, believing
that the event did not concern them, Tannier rushed
into the battle and was seriously injured as a result.
When he was later questioned by his
tutor over the matter, Rastenn confessed to being
afraid, not of dying but dying needlessly, without
meaning, to which Turval responded with a lesson
that concluded "death will have meaning if it comes
when you are in fullest pursuit of your heart."
